THE DRESS

Let’s start from the top - the dress.

You might be feeling that the classic white dress just isn’t your vibe. No worries - why not go for something a bit different? Soft tones of champagne, rose gold or even powder blue can make a refreshing change from white - or maybe red is your colour! FIRST LOOK

If the idea of waiting to see your soon-to-be bride or groom at the top of the aisle, in front of the crowd, is all a bit too much, you could always opt to have a first look beforehand. This is becoming more and more common (perhaps as people become less superstitious!) and also provides a great time to get your photos taken with your bridal party - leaving you more time to mingle with your guests post-ceremony.

If you’re leaning towards doing a first look, ask your photographer and venue if they have any recommendations for photo spots. It can be such a sweet, intimate moment, so you’ll want to make sure it’s captured perfectly.

FOOD

Looking for ways to mix up the dining experience? Instead of a classic sit down dinner, you could opt for food trucks - perfect for summer afternoons, where your guests are lounging and mingling in the sun! We have some fabulous food trucks available around Kāpiti. Grazing boards are also increasingly popular as an alternative to serving canapés - it’s such a social experience, and guests can come and go as they please.

CAKE

If you’re a bit of a cheese-fiend, why not opt for a massive stack of glorious cheese, instead of a cake?
